The Black Pearl name is borrowed from the Black Pearl 280Z…..
“A special edition Z . . . (it) featured a sports appearance package, which included red and silver accent stripes on the body sides, hood, decklid, and around the headlight buckets, a rear hatch louver shade kit, and dual mirrors. The paint was black with a metallic pearl added for effect. This was the first time that Datsun offered a black Z for the market, and customers responded by buying all that were produced.”
1978 was the final year for the original Z car.
